Monday night at around 11:30 pm police were dispatched to an apartment in the 600 block of E Minor Dr. on a disturbance call.
On arrival officers were directed to an apartment unit where they located two adult females inside with unknown injuries. One of the females, the mother, was alert and talking with what appeared to be minor injuries and another female, her daughter, was unresponsive with significant stabbing injuries.
Based on preliminary information obtained by the initial responding officers, additional responding officers were able to locate an adult male subject of interest and take him into custody, for further investigation, a short distance away within the apartment complex.
Initial officers rendered aid to the injured victims and called for EMS. Emergency crews responded and transported both the victims to the hospital for treatment. The female victim with significant injuries was declared deceased at the hospital. She has been identified as 22-year-old Dayteonna Thompson. The second female is being treated for what is believed to be non life threatening injuries.

Based on preliminary information it is believed the male subject of interest is known to the injured females.
Detectives are not searching for any additional suspects in this incident.
Homicide detectives are canvassing the area around the apartment for any witnesses and crime scene investigators are processing the scene for any evidence.
