April 4 “Swing for Kids” event will highlight importance of upcoming bond issue

On April 4, the Kansas City Education Foundation will host “Swing for Kids,” a 9-hole shotgun golf event at the Heart of America Golf Course to raise awareness about the upcoming bond issue in advance of the April 8 election day. Event starts at 10 am.

Registration is $300 for a foursome, which includes 9 holes of golf with golf cart, range balls, on-course contests, lunch and an after-party at City Barrel Pizza including light snacks and a drink ticket.

All proceeds benefit the Kansas City Public Schools Education Foundation. Heart of America Golf Course is located at 7501 Blue River Road.

“There are good things happening at KCPS,” said Kansas City Education Foundation Director Jon Hile. “This event celebrates that, and is also to raise awareness about the chance to pass the bond this spring, the first in nearly 60 years.”
