Volunteers will be in the parking lot to collect still-useful household items.

Un-Dumpster Day comes to South Broadland Presbyterian

One-day effort collects gently used items to benefit local nonprofits

Kansas City nonprofit Re.Use.Full will host an un-dumpster day on Saturday, March 29 from 1:30 to 5 pm at the parking lot of South Broadland Presbyterian, 7850 Holmes. The goal is to keep unwanted stuff out of the landfill while providing a one-stop hub to collect useful items.

“It can be hard to know what to do with those household items you no longer need after doing your annual spring cleaning,” said Leslie Scott, founder of Re.Use.Full. “Un-Dumpster Day offers a convenient way to declutter and do good as well as recycle your electronics and tires and shred your confidential documents for free.”

Volunteers will be on-hand to collect gently used working appliances, bikes, books, clothing, linens, toys, games and puzzles, furniture and other household goods.

Participating organizations include Big Brothers Big Sisters Kansas City, Circul KC, City Thrift, Flourish Furniture Bank, Global One Urban Farming, Healing House, Lead to Read KC, Pepper Berries Teaching Emporium, Red Racks, Seton Center and True Light Family Resource Center.

You can also take advantage of free paper-shredding services along with tire, appliance and electronics recycling — anything with a cord is accepted. Recycleverse will also be on site to accept old rope they will upcycle for dog toys.
