Etherington wins Loch Lloyd election runoff

Retired attorney will join the Board of Trustees

Loch Lloyd voters chose retired attorney Chuck Etherington to join the Board of Trustees in a special runoff election held Tuesday, June 3. Etherington had tied with incumbent Board Trustee Ruth Withey in the April 8th election.

Of the 571 votes cast on Tuesday, Etherington garnered 323 (56.57%) while Withey got 248 (43.43%). There are 1024 voters registered in Loch Lloyd.

Etherington, who is the former chair of Loch Lloyd’s Planning and Zoning Commission, said he campaigned hard over the past few months. “I want to thank everyone for their vote,” he said. “I’m looking forward to getting to work and moving forward.”

Etherington, who served on the American Century Investments Global Council, has lived in the Sechrest community since 2007. He said he “provided extensive thoughts and information to the Trustees” while also “keeping the community informed” during the rezoning processes.
