Fugitive wanted for homicide that took place near 82nd and Holmes Rd a year ago

La’Relle is wanted in the shooting death of Treshaun Wright in August 2024 near 82nd and Holmes Road.

Police are asking for help in finding La’Relle Dennis, a dangerous fugitive wanted in the death of Treshaun Wright a year ago. Dennis is 23 years old, 5′ 10″, and 290 lbs.
On August 25, 2024, at around 1:47 AM patrol officers were dispatched to the 8200 block of Kenwood on a reported sound of shots. As officers arrived in the area they began canvassing looking for possible victims or a crime scene.  In the 8200 block of Holmes officers located Wright inside of a vehicle suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Emergency medical personnel responded and pronounced the victim deceased on scene.

If anyone has any information in the whereabouts of La’Relle Dennis, they are asked to contact Homicide detectives directly at 816-234-5043 or the TIPS Hotline anonymously at 816-474-TIPS. There is a reward of up to $25,000 for information submitted anonymously to the TIPS hotline. The Greater KC Crime Stoppers/TIPS Hotline is available to anyone who may want to submit information but may be afraid of retaliation.

KCPD is committed to assisting victims of violent crimes through use of Missouri’s Protection Program for Victims/Witnesses of Violent Crime. Funding for temporary, or even permanent relocation, may be available but is subject to pre-approval by the State’s administering agency.

KCPD is also working with Partners for Peace in all our homicide investigations to monitor risks for retaliation and provide social services to affected residents.

“While we always encourage people to first work with detectives regarding any investigation, we are also always available for anyone who wants to remain 100% anonymous when submitting information through our program only,” says Detective Christina Ludwig, coordinator with the Greater KC Crime Stoppers Program.
