On April 14th, Public Works shut down Lumpkins Fork Bridge for safety reasons due to deficiencies on the deck of the bridge. Fortunately, design for the replacement of the bridge is complete, according to Public Works, and the project is now being advertised for bids.
In addition to PIAC funding, Public Works was able to obtain a $1.7 million grant from MoDOT for the reconstruction of the bridge. Pending the bid process, construction is expected to start this summer.
