Grandview Education Foundation to host 5K fundraiser on September 13

Annual race supports enhanced learning opportunities in the district

The annual Grandview Education Foundation Heroes for Education 5K Run/Walk to raise money to benefit the students and staff of the Grandview C-4 School District will begin at 8 a.m. Saturday, September 13, at the Grandview Amphitheater at 13501 Byars Rd., in Grandview.

Registration for adults is $35 and the price will increase after September 11. Registration for students is $15 and ends at 7:59 a.m. the day of the event.

Participants will compete for overall male and female awards and for masters male and female awards. Awards also will be given to the top three male and female finishers in the 10 & under, 11-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69 and 70+ age groups.

Proceeds benefit the Grandview Education Foundation (GEF), which provided $22,500 in scholarships to graduating seniors of the Class of 2025. GEF distributed 14,000 new books to elementary and early childhood students and issued $9,900 in total grants to teachers and staff to enhance classroom experiences.

GEF appointed Sandra Champion Jones as Executive Director in December 2024. She brings more than 30 years of experience in leadership, team building and civic engagement in Grandview.
