The Sechrest golf course, abandoned during the pandemic, is surrounded by million dollar homes on the south end of the Village of Loch Lloyd.

Development finds peaceful resolution in Loch Lloyd

Trustees approve preliminary plat for Sechrest

Loch Lloyd has reached an agreement with developer Brian Illig who presented housing plans for a former golf course in the South HOA neighborhood. The plans did not set well with home owners whose homes abutted the once beautiful golf course called Sechrest.

A statement put out by Trident Real Estate states that on September 26, the Village of Loch Lloyd Trustees had officially approved the preliminary plat for Sechrest at Loch Lloyd, with all agreements signed between the developer and the Village.

This agreement advances plans for the 44-lot Sechrest development but also ensures the preservation of more than 50 acres of green space on the former Sechrest golf course.

Immediate plans include covering old bunkers, restoring irrigation, planting over 20 new trees, rehabilitating 2,000 feet of cart path into walking trails, and creating a play field for community use.

These improvements will accompany a $3 million investment in water and sewer infrastructure over the next two years.

“By securing long-term care of the remaining Sechrest land, we’re not just approving a development—we’re reinvesting in our shared future with trails, parkland, and infrastructure that will benefit every resident,” shared Village Trustee Chairman Chuck Etherington.

Lot prices are expected to range from $250,000 to $425,000.

More updates

In other Loch Lloyd news, the country club provided members with a new swimming pool and updated health club.

A traffic light will soon be installed on Holmes Road at 166th Street, across from the entrance. The installation is expected to slow traffic and make turning into the Village safer on the two-lane road.
