October 17

Glow Night at Colonial Presbyterian South KC
Free night of fun including bounce houses, face painting and candy. 5:30 to 7:30 pm. Learn more

Beetlejuice at Ward Parkway Center 
A free screening of the campy Tim Burton classic starts at 6:30 pm on the South Pavillion lawn. Film is rated PG. Learn more

October 18

Halloween Bull Riding at Forged Ranch
Cheer on the bull riders, enjoy food trucks and end the night with a concert at 20906 S. State Route Y in Belton. Proceeds benefit a local child battling cancer. $10 admission/ 8 and under free. Learn more

October 22

Vampitheater Halloween Bash
A giant-sized trunk or treat at the Grandview Amphitheater with candy, local vendors and a dog costume contest. 5:30 to 7:30 pm. grandview.org

October 23

Trunk or Treat at Research College of Nursing
Costumes and candy at this community event sponsored by Research College of Nursing, 2525 E. Meyer Blvd. 4:30 to 6:30 pm. Learn more

October 24

Floating Pumpkin Patch
Kids can swim with pumpkins at Southeast Community Center’s indoor pool (4201 E. 63rd St). Afterwards enjoy an indoor trunk-or-treat from community partners. Cost is $5; 5 to 7 pm. Learn more

Spooky Teen Swim
Ages 13-18 take over the Southeast Community Center pool from 7 to 9 pm with glow stick diving, games and music. Cost is $5. Learn more

Screen 5 at Ward Parkway Center 
A free screening of Scream 5 starts at 6:30 pm on the South Pavillion lawn. Film is rated R, so anyone attending who is under the age of 17 needs an adult to accompany. Learn more

Haunted Histories: Majors House Paranormal Investigations
A paranormal tour adventure at the Alexander Majors House & Barn, 8201 State Line Rd. Tickets are $50 each. wornallmajors.org/ghosttours

October 25

Night of Magic and Mystery in Tower Park
Waldo Tower Neighborhood Association invites neighbors to bring chairs and costumes and enjoy a bubble performance, fire show, jugglers, musicians and Tarot card readers from 5 to 7 pm at the large shelter in Tower Park, 7500 Holmes Rd. www.waldotowerneighborhood.org

Monster Bash
Kids 10 and under will enjoy the Regnier Family Wonderscope Children’s Museum of Kansas City’s evening party with crafts, broomstick building, Naturescape maze, costume contest and trick-or-treating. Tickets are $15 each or $50 for a Family Ticket (up to 6 guests). wonderscope.org/monster-bash

Historic Howl-O-Ween Dog Costume Contest

5th Annual Trunk or Treat at D.A.V.E.’s Place
Bring the whole family out for an afternoon filled with candy and treats for the kids, professional family photos to capture the moment, music, games, and fun for all ages. Come dressed in your favorite costume and celebrate with our community. 3 to 5 pm at 2116 E 74th St. Learn more

Trunk or Treat at Southeast Library
Fun activities and prizes for kids of all ages in the library parking lot from 4 to 6:30 pm at 6242 Swope Parkway. kclibrary.org

October 30-31 and November 1

Frankenstein
Presented by the Rockhurst High School Theatre Department Performances at 7 pm in the Rose Theater, 9301 State Line Rd. Tickets are $5. Learn more

Trick or Treat at Red Bridge Shopping Center
A safe, walkable trick-or-treat experience around Red Bridge businesses from 4 to 6 pm. Learn more

Trick or Treat Street at Brookside
Brookside shops will hand out treats from 4 to 6 pm. The annual tradition attracts thousands of costumed children. www.brooksidekc.org

Trunk n’ Treat at Martin City Baptist
The parking lot of Martin City Baptist Church will be set up for Halloween trunk or treat from 6 to 8 pm. 520 E. 132nd Terrace. Learn more

Trick-or-Treat at Ward Parkway Center
Costumes, candy and fun for kids ages 12 years and older, from 6 to 8 pm (or when the candy runs out). Learn more

Coco at Ward Parkway Center South Lawn

November 1

Fall Festival at Kansas City First Church of the Nazarene
