Grandview has a floral shop.

But it’s not your ordinary floral that also sells gifts.

Pritzy Floral Design Studio, located at 12127 Blue Ridge Blvd., Suite F, does sell impressively designed floral arrangements, but within an event space environment that includes an Instagram content creation room and a small venue for floral design parties.

Pritzy is set for the Gen Z crowd who have created a trending resurgence in floral shops thanks to their interest in floral design. Many floral shops have jumped on the bandwagon offering classes and themed parties.

But few have gone as far as offering the internet generation rental space to film a TikTok video.

“We are the first floral design content studio in Grandview,” says owner Shahidah Salaam, who celebrated the studio’s grand reveal on December 11th with a small ribbon cutting event. Her young daughter Sahara had the privilege of cutting the bright red ribbon stretched across the entrance door.

Salaam, who owns four event spaces in Grandview, took a class in floral arrangement in 2014 from Johnson County Community College and is now completing a second program there in floral cultural studies. Salaam opened her first event space in 2018. In 2023, she created Pritzy Florals, an online floral delivery shop. Her need for an actual studio came when she ran out of space for florals ordered for a large gala. A storage space behind her venue Elegant Affairs filled in the pinch.

She and her husband Khalis Shareef decided to lease the space and create a flower studio.

The storage space now has been converted into three main rooms: the home-like content creation room, a refrigerated hold and take room, and an intimate party venue. A colorful and furnished breezeway welcomes clients. And a small kitchen sits off the party venue.

Bursts of color liven up the otherwise white environment. The party venue hidden behind a back door is decorated in black and features a lighted DJ stand.

The content creation room can be rented by the day, week or month. Signage can be hung behind a wooden counter in the staged area.

“It’s great for a social media page,” says Salaam. “Just bring your items and cell phone. You can sell what you want in the room.”

The room can also be used for consultations.

For those who have only interest in flowers, orders can be placed online and picked up at the studio. More information can be found at PritzyFlorals.com.
