Property dispute leads to shootings, death

As officers arrived they located two adults males in the street suffering from gunshot wounds.

This morning, just after 9:15 AM, patrol officers were dispatched to the 7400 block of Chestnut on a reported disturbance. While en route the call was upgraded to a shooting.

As officers arrived they located two adult males in the street, suffering from gunshot wounds. KCFD EMS arrived simultaneously and performed life saving measures. Both victims were pronounced deceased on scene.

This is being investigated as a homicide. The preliminary investigation has revealed that there was a dispute over property, just prior to shots being fired and the victims being struck. Detectives have located several witnesses and will continue to canvass the area for additional witnesses or surveillance footage. Crime scene personnel are processing the scene for any available physical evidence.
