Volunteers are needed from 8 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 6, to help restore the natural beauty of the Alex George Recreational Area at 10700 Blue River Rd. which is part of Jackson County’s 2,300-acre Blue River Parkway that runs along the river. The lake on the site has been filling up with sediment for many years and is being turned into a wetland. Contact 816-545-9971 for more information.
