Blue River Trails Project: Public Open House @ Red Bridge Mid-Continent Library

April 28 @ 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm

These projects are part of a partnership between multiple cities and counties to help realize one of the major regional trail projects (The Blue River Trail) that has been decades in the making. The full trail development, once completed from the Blue River’s headwaters in Johnson County, KS near the Overland Park Arboretum, to the confluence with the Missouri River in KCMO, is envisioned as a transformational active transportation route connecting two states, two counties, and three major cities in the region. In addition to being a priority in the region’s MetroGreen Plan, the paved trail is also included in Kansas City’s Trails KC Plan, and Jackson County’s recently adopted Blue River Parkway Master Plan. Over decades, the public has shown their strong support for this trail. Segments are designed and built as funding becomes available. More Information: Blue River Parkway Master Plan, MARC MetroGreen Plan, MARC Regional Bikeways Plan. Located at Mid-Continent Public Library, Red Bridge Branch, 453 Red Bridge Rd, Kansas City, MO 64131.
