Drop-In History: Hair Art @ John Wornall House

July 23 @ 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Victorians turned hair into intricate jewelry and keepsakes, sometimes to mourn, sometimes as a token of affection, or simply because it was an in-vogue craft. View examples of this delicate art form before enjoying coffee while learning the history behind some of the pieces from Curator Sarah Bader-King. Visitors will be among the first to see a new exhibit of hair art made from pieces recently donated to Wornall/Majors House Museums by Leila’s Hair Museum. This casual evening is ideal for artists, history lovers, and anyone who can’t believe people once made intricate jewelry from hair. Free event.
