Great Wind Festival 2026 @ Ironwoods Park

April 26 @ 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Celebrate the arrival of spring at the Great Wind Festival — a free, family-friendly day of outdoor fun, discovery, and hands-on science for kids and kids-at-heart! Build and fly your own kite and watch it soar across the sky, get creative with colorful pinwheels that spin and shimmer in the breeze, and explore wind energy through interactive exhibits and demonstrations. The festival also features food and refreshing drinks for purchase, as well as games, activities, and entertainment for all ages. This year’s live music lineup is packed with incredible local talent: Diversion is a dynamic 6-member band returning to the Great Wind Festival stage, blending energetic classics and modern hits spanning the 70s to today. Seyje brings a soulful mix of Americana, acoustic rock, and folk, weaving heartfelt originals with classics from the 70s and beyond for a nostalgic, vibrant experience. Flat Canyon Drifters play acoustic and contemporary music, featuring a timeless blend of rhythmic acoustic guitars, drums, and bass, with fun live energy and smooth beats — a unique mix of seasoned and contemporary musicians focused on original music, with select covers and their own unique twist (learn more at https://www.ricklally.com/flat-canyon-drifters). Flow State brings a punk/reggae attitude perfect for summertime, with smooth bass lines, ripping solos, rhythmic guitar, and booming drums. Admission is free — just bring your curiosity, gather your friends and family, and let the wind lead you! Located at Ironwoods Park Amphitheatre, Leawood, KS.
