Pinnacle Winds Concert
Kansas City’s professional-level concert band Pinnacle Winds will present a concert featuring internationally renowned conductor Dr. Robert Rumbelow as guest conductor at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 12, at the Grandview High School concert hall.
Rumbelow is principal conductor of Poland’s top wind band and will be sharing the podium with Dr. John Carmichael, Pinnacle Winds conductor. Both have extensive experience conducting at the university level.
Selections will include Colonial Song by Percy Granger, March with Trumpets by William Bergsma, and a Latin style selection Danzon No. 2 by Arturo Marquez. Also featured will be A Movement for Rosa by Mark Camphouse which pays tribute to Rosa Parks and her leadership in the struggle for racial equality.
Tickets for the concert are $20 for general admission and $10 for senior citizens or students and can be purchased on the Pinnacle Winds website www.pinnaclewinds.com or at the door.
