South KC Block Party

“A large crowd is expected again this year at the free South KC Block Party from 10am – 3pm on Saturday, October 5, at Red Bridge Shopping Center sponsored by the South Kansas City Chamber Of Commerce.

Live entertainment will begin at 10 with a performance by the Center High School Marching Band and continue until about 2pm. Other entertainiment will include carnival games, face painting, a balloon artist, and a caricature artist. The event will include craft and vendor booths and local food vendors.

A baby costume contest will be at 10:20am, and a South KC Culinary Throwdown will start at noon as chefs from South Kansas City area restaurants compete for the title of Best South KC Chef.

A new feature this year will be Harry’s Beer & Wine Garden which will be open from 10 – 5. Hanover Express, a band that plays classic rock as well as original songs, will perform from 2 – 5.”
