Avila University Theater students present the play “Unnecessary Farce.” The comedy follows an embezzling mayor, his accountant and two undercover cops at a motel where confusion escalates. $10. Thursday, Friday and Saturday, 7:30 pm; Sunday, 2 pm. (On Friday and Saturday at 6 pm, for $40 you can enjoy a plated dinner before the show.) 118th & Wornall Road
