Got a Problem? Air Them with the City Saturday Morning

Kansas City residents with problems or concerns about city services can discuss them directly with appropriate city staff from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, October 22, at Evangel Church, 1414 East 103rd Street, at a problem solving session sponsored by the South Kansas City Alliance.

Reservations are not required, and persons can drop by anytime. Persons are encouraged to bring written descriptions or pictures of their problems if applicable.

City departments that will be represented at the event include the city council office, city manager’s office, codes enforcement, fire, neighborhoods & housing, parks & recreation, planning & development, police, public works, water services and the 311 action center.

Representatives from the Missouri Department of Transportation, the UMKC Center for Neighborhoods, Jackson County COMBAT (the county’s program to reduce drug abuse and violence) and the county assessor’s office also will be available to work with residents to address their problems or concerns.

Evangel Church is on the north side of I-435 east of Holmes Road. Persons coming from the east can take the 103rd Street exit from I-435, go straight across the railroad tracks, and the church will be on the right. From the west, persons can take Holmes Road to 101st Terrace, turn east and follow the curving street to 103d Street, turn left, and the church will be on the left. Persons are requested to park in the rear lot.
