Fire crews responded to a reported fire in the 6300 block of Red Bridge Road in the Hickman Mills area at 8:40 p.m.
The first arriving company reported smoke and fire showing from the rear of a 1-story home located in Stratford Estates. Offensive operations were initiated; and a hand line was advanced to extinguish the fire. A booster line was also used to extinguish hot spots during overhaul operations.
Searches by KCFD companies came back “all clear”. The fire was brought under control at 8:50 p.m. The house is located about a block from Fire Station 42.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by KCFD. No injuries were reported at this incident.
