Hickman Mills, Grandview Hold Fundraising Events

By John Sharp

About 250 people heard Jackson County Executive and Royals icon Frank White, Jr., tell how important it was to him as a teenager to have people believe in his abilities at the October 27 annual gala I chaired of the Hickman Mills Educational Foundation at the Armacost Car Museum in Grandview.  The Foundation raises funds for college scholarships for Ruskin High School students and partial tuition reimbursement for classes they take for dual high school and college credit, as well as for grants to district teachers for special projects.

The Grandview Education Foundation which funds teacher grants, student scholarships and special programs is hosting its 9th annual Trivia Night fundraiser Thursday, November 9, at Grandview High School.  Teams of eight may enter the contest for $100.  Sponsorships for the event range from $50 to $1,000, and area businesses are requested to donate goods or services for drawings or door prizes.  Persons may email info@grandviewedfoundation.org or call 816-765-2347 for more information.
