Owen Buckley, owner of Red Bridge Shopping Center, to discuss grocery store in public meeting tonight

Various speakers will provide updates on Sun Fresh, Barstow construction, 103rd Street flood prevention plans, and Bannister Rd. gas station construction.

Tonight’s Center Planning and Development Council meeting will include speakers on a variety of topics that impact neighborhoods in south Kansas City. The meeting will be held at the Trailside Center, 9901 Holmes Rd., starting at 7 pm, Tuesday, January 31.

Owen Buckley, CEO of Lane4 Property Group, will provide an update on the closing of Sun Fresh and plans for the Red Bridge Shopping Center.

Representatives from Barstow School will present plans for the construction of a new Athletics Building, access drive and parking lots, as well as future building additions on the Barstow School campus at 11511 State Line Rd. The school is applying for a  Development Plan and Special Use Permit.

We Minder, Director for the KC Water Department, will speak on an upcoming project scheduled for 103rd and Wornall Road. The project focus is under the bridge to aid in addressing the Indian Creek flood tendency.

Khalid Banday, Project Engineer with KAM Design Group, will present plans for a new gas station, convenient store and warehouse on 1215 E. Bannister Rd.

South Patrol Officer Aaron Whitehead will give a crime report for the area.

  1. We need a HyVee in the area since he one at 121st & State Line closed. The space Sun Fresh occupied would be great although they would likely want to expand.
