Martin City will get a coffee shop

The Martin City Community Improvement District (CID) held its monthly meeting on July 11th at Jess & Jim’s Steakhouse. Special guest was Dos de Oros owner Miguel Cervantes, who recently relocated the taqueria,  Rey de Oros, from Blue Ridge Blvd. and Holmes Rd. to 131st and Holmes Rd. While CID business owners were happy to hear of Rey de Oros’ success in the past few months, they were especially excited to hear that the Cervantes have purchased the former P.S. Coffee Shop next door. Cervantes said his brother José is in the process of applying for an LLC to own and run the coffee shop business. The coffee shop will serve coffee beverages and Mexican pastries. The brothers have no opening date, but do plan to have drive-thru only. The space is currently being used as a torta bakery for Cervantes’ two restaurants.

In other CID news, Oak Street is in the process of being milled and overlaid, while Holmes Road is being resurfaced. Infinite Energy Construction is building a 10,000 square foot warehouse on six acres at the south end of Oak Street. The warehouse will be available for lease.
