The Mid-Continent Public Library has partnered with Hickman Mills’ Real World Learning Center to help students understand media literacy. This semester, students will design their own curriculum on the topic, focusing on important topics like checking facts and evaluating sources.
“We are thrilled to be working with MCPL as we empower our students to educate themselves and their peers on how to evaluate online information and make good decisions,” said Dr. Leah La Faver, who teaches at the Real World Learning Center. “This is a key issue for younger generations, and we are working with the Library to help teens build these skills and responsible digital citizenship.”
The library’s Innovation Department also offers media literacy classes for adults.
