Earlier this week the Martin City Community Improvement District honored Debbie Van Noy for her leadership and the impact that she has made on Martin City during the two decades that she has served on the CID board of directors. Nearly three dozen CID board members, area business owners and family members attended the dinner at Rosehill Winery.
Van Noy, one of the co-owners of Jess and Jim’s Steak House, was one of the organizers of the CID in 2005 and has served as the board chair for much of the time. The CID was originally created to improve the road, sidewalks, streetlighting and other infrastructure along 135th Street and has continued to provide maintenance and upgrades to the streetscape after completion, along with security and promotion of the district.
Van Noy has been involved with the annual Martin City St. Patrick’s Day Parade and has also hosted the CID board’s monthly meetings at Jess and Jim’s. Hosting the meetings has meant that she has attended all but one of the more than 200 board meetings during her term.
“We appreciate everything that Debbie has done and continues to do for Martin City,” shared Vickie Wolverton, Martin City CID District Manager. “She is always on the lookout for things that need to be addressed in the community and has been a tremendous leader for the CID board.”
Van Noy said that she will continue to help out where needed. “I’m not going anywhere, and I am happy to help the district continue to grow!
