On Sunday evening around 7:35, ambulance and police crews responded to 7518 James A Reed.
Preliminary investigation revealed that a black Chevrolet Cobalt was driving at a high rate of speed northbound on James A Reed from 79th St. When approaching 76th, the vehicle lost control, left the roadway and continued in the front yard on 7518 James A Reed where they struck a light pole and a tree.
Upon arrival, KCFD crews found the vehicle with significant damage and an occupant trapped inside. Extrication procedures were immediately initiated, and one individual was removed from the vehicle.
All three parties were juvenile and transported to an area hospital. The driver is in critical condition. The investigation is ongoing.
