Annual 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony at Mount Olivet Cemetery

Public event honors victims and shows appreciation to all first responders

A 9/11 remembrance ceremony will be held at the First Responder’s Memorial at Mount Olivet Cemetery, 7601 Blue Ridge Blvd, on September 11. The public is invited to attend to honor victims of the 9/11 attacks and show appreciation for first responders.

The American Legion Band will perform at 5:30 pm, followed by the 6 pm ceremony. Special guests include Kansas City Police Chief Stacey Graves, Kansas City Fire Chief Ross Grundyson and Raytown Mayor Mike McDonough.

The event is jointly hosted by the American Legion District 5, VFW District 5, DAV, Muehlebach Funeral Care, Passantino Brothers Funeral Home and The Catholic Cemeteries of Kansas City-St. Joseph.
