Kansas City Fire Department crews were dispatched to a reported fire in the area of 93rd Street and Newton Drive at 12:29 a.m. On arrival, crews reported a 1-story house, fully involved with fire.
The house was reported as one that had been a previous burn, and a defensive fire attack was initiated.
Last month, on November 19th, fire crews responded to a reported house fire in the 6600 block of E. 93rd , near the same location, to put out a heavy fire from a two-story vacant home.
Crews used multiple hose lines to extinguish the fire, which was under brought under control at 1:41 a.m.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by KCFD. Dangerous Buildings was called to the scene.
