Michelle Tyrene Johnson’s Buried Roots at the Frantze Family Black Box Theatre! What do we inherit from our families and from the world around us? In this original work by Kansas City playwright and St. Teresa’s Academy graduate Michelle Tyrene Johnson, a young Black college student and his genealogy professor form an unexpected connection that brings long-buried family histories to the surface. Funny, moving, and deeply human, Buried Roots explores race, class, education, identity, belonging, and the inequities that shape opportunities.
