Fox Hollow Fest – Celebrating Trees and Trails @ Lakeside Nature Center

June 7 @ 11:00 am - 3:00 pm

Friends of Fox Hollow is excited to host the 4th annual Fox Hollow Fest on Sunday, June 7th from 11 am to 3 pm. It’s a day filled with lots of fun activities for the whole family. This is also a fundraiser to help support the trail system of Lakeside Nature Center; however, entry is free and there is much to explore.

We will have many local organizations on hand that would love to tell you about all their exciting projects that are happening in the metro area and how you can get involved. Sow wild Natives will be here selling their amazing natives once again! 451 Pizza Truck will return, so you can grab a slice and a cold one while listening to The Craftsmen. This will be their debut performance at our festival! There will also be craft tables and bird hikes open to all levels (bring or own binoculars or borrow one of ours). And, for those feeling lucky, we will have many items to entice in our raffle.

Some NEW activities this year:

  • Learn to make potted arrangements with native plants.
  • Join a tree climbing demo with Trees Company Recreational Climbing.
Using professional climbing gear and techniques, you will ascend up to 40 feet into a beautiful oak tree in the Lakeside Nature Center woods. All equipment is provided and your guide will give you instructions to safely ascend into the canopy and descend back to the ground. Climbers need to be in relatively good health and ages 7 and up. Adult climbers and/or parents of minor children will need to sign our waiver onsite at the festival. We recommend wearing long pants and closed-toe shoes (no sandals or flip-flops).
Cost will be $15 for a 45-minute climbing session.
  • Partake in our SWOP and SHOP.
Bring gently used and functional garden or outdoor equipment to leave and take something that you need.  This will be free. If you have anything to contribute, either bring the day of or drop off at Lakeside the week prior.

The majority of the Fest will be outside, so dress for the weather and apply sun screen and insect repellent. We will have our food truck on hand but outside food and non-alcoholic beverages are welcome. This a dog friendly event but all pups must be on a leash and cannot go inside the center. Also, bring your comfy chair to sit back and listen to the music.
