More Smoke BBQ Competition @ St. Thomas More School

St. Thomas More Parish and School in Kansas City is hosting its annual MORE Smoke BBQ competition and fellowship event on October 9 and 10. The weekend brings together BBQ, music, food, drinks, and community, and organizers are calling on backyard grillers and BBQ lovers alike to take part.

The event is open to anyone who thinks they make a pretty mean rack of ribs, has a brisket their family won’t stop talking about, or considers chicken their specialty. Participants don’t need to be a professional BBQ team to join. They can enter all the meats, enter just one, or gather friends to form a team. Those who would rather not compete are welcome to simply come hang out, eat, drink, and enjoy the weekend. Organizers describe it as backyard BBQ with a little friendly competition thrown in.

Teams can register to compete in the tournament for $175, which secures a competing team booth. Cyclone sponsorships are also available for $750 and include logo shirts, gym banners, and event passes.

Beyond the smokers, the weekend features a live band on Friday night, festive libations, a pancake breakfast, a hot dog lunch, and plenty of time with the St. Thomas More community.
