Party on the Prairie @ Jerry Smith Park

Celebrate National Prairie Day at Party on the Prairie — a free, family-friendly festival at Jerry Smith Park, Jackson County’s only historic remnant prairie! Hosted by Bridging the Gap’s Kansas City WildLands team and KC Parks and Recreation, the event features live music, a food truck, guided plant and bird walks, a plein air quick paint competition with monetary prizes for first and second place, a scavenger hunt, and more. Watch local artists paint prairie scenes, choose your own prairie adventure with local experts, and explore the park to the beat of local musicians. Something for everyone!
