Around 11:30 pm, South Patrol and ambulance services responded to a fatality collision at 11725 Grandview Rd. Preliminary investigation revealed that a red Ford Focus was traveling northbound on Grandview Road. For reasons unknown, the Ford ran off the roadway to the right, striking a raised sewer cover located in front of the business located at 11725 Grandview Road. The Ford then traveled westbound across the roadway into an empty parking lot and caught fire after coming to rest. The driver and sole occupant of the Ford was pronounced deceased at the scene.
This is fatality #69 compared to #65 at this time last year and the investigation is ongoing.
