Kansas City Fire crews responded to a reported building fire in the 800 block of E. 82nd at 4:41 pm.
Crews reported smoke showing from a vacant commercial structure, which has been verified as the former Paul Robeson Middle School. The main fire was in the auditorium of the building.
Interior operations were initiated using multiple handlines.
Searches were conducted and came back all clear. No injuries were reported at this incident. The cause of the fire is under investigation by KCFD. Dangerous buildings were requested.
