On Saturday night around 10:15 pm, ambulances responded to the area of northbound I-435 and 87th Street to meet South Patrol Officers on a reported injury collision with critical injuries. Preliminary investigation revealed that a black Suzuki 650 motorcycle was traveling northbound on I-435 at a very high rate of speed. For reasons unknown, the operator lost control of the motorcycle, causing the motorcycle to go down and ejecting the operator totally off the motorcycle. The operator was transported to a local hospital with critical injuries and is currently in critical condition. Three lanes of northbound I-435 were closed to traffic for approximately 3 hours. The highway has since been reopened.
