Spirit of Waldo

The Waldo Area Business Association is hosting the 29th Annual Waldo Fall Festival on Saturday, September 18. The 2021 festival theme will be ‘Spirt of Waldo’ with food and festivities on-site from 10am-5pm.
“We selected this theme to showcase the spirit of the Waldo businesses that have courageously opened their doors, expanded their footprint or continued to grow even during a very difficult time,” said Waldo Area Business Association president Angela Cronk.
Held outside at the parking lot off of Trolley Train at Wornall and Gregory, residents and guests will enjoy Waldo business pop-ups as well as specials from within The District. Guests will be able to experience specials at Waldo businesses at their locations including Hagoyah, Pilates 1901, Waldo Greenhouse, and Marco Polo Selections.
Waldo businesses participating on-site include Emilie’s French Teas, Hawthorne & Ivy, Mantooth Creative, Pickleman’s and The Classic Cookie. This year, the festival is also partnering with The Strawberry Swing, a network of local markets, entrepreneurs, and pop-ups, to bring in a variety of local Kansas City makers.
“You can expect local makers and artists curated by The Strawberry Swing at the event – many of which are from the Waldo area – including a mix of ceramics, clothing, photography, fiber arts, and more,” said Cronk.
Abiding by the CDC guidelines for festivals, all vendors, attendees and volunteers are encouraged to wear a mask or stand 6-feet apart. Masks will be required indoors if attendees visit any Waldo businesses.
