This morning just before 8 am, Kansas City Missouri Police Department officers were called to the 11500 block of Food Lane on a reported shooting. Upon arrival, officers found an adult female victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. EMS transported the victim to the hospital in critical condition, where she tragically died a short time later.
Homicide detectives and Crime Scene Personnel have responded to the scene and are working to recover any evidence and speaking to potential witnesses.
Anyone with information is asked to call the detectives at 816-234-5043. If you wish to remain anonymous you can do so by calling the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS. There is a reward of up to $25,000 for information provided to TIPS which leads to an arrest in the case.
The police department is working with Partners for Peace in all homicide investigations to monitor risks for retaliation and provide social services to affected residents.
[Update]: Kansas City Police Department has identified the victim as Trianna Tisdale. She was 29 years of age.
