5th District Teacher and Student Drive-Thru Giveaway
Saturday is a very productive day if you live in the 5th District. On top of the Neighborhood Fall Cleanup there will be numerous items given away free to teachers and students, thanks to their city councilwoman.
5th District City Councilwoman Ryan Parks-Shaw is sponsoring free drive-thru school supply giveaways to both teachers and students on Saturday, August 29, from 8 am to noon at 3999 Swope Pkwy (enter on 67th Street).
Items featured in the giveaway include 2,000 backpacks: 40 free computers, 30 free tablets, children’s masks, hand sanitizers, children’s books, feminine hygiene products, coupons for discounted haircuts and free food.
For teachers: Face shields, masks, gloves, and hand sanitizers. Must show faculty I.D.
COVID-19 testing will be available on site also.
The event is co-sponsored by Giving Hope & Help.
