Bike + Bus Pass
Transit users who purchase a 31-day pass for $50 that covers unlimited Kansas City Area Transportation Authority (KCATA) bus trips can now also take advantage of unlimited 60-minute bike share usage at any of the 42 BCycle bike share stations in KCMO and North Kansas City for no extra cost.
The new combined pass was announced Thursday, August 30, by the KCATA and BikeWalkKC, a nonprofit bicycle/pedestrian advocacy organization that initiated the bike share stations.
Persons may purchase the combined pass on the www.kc.bcycle.com website. Current KCATA pass holders must re-sign up once their current pass expires.
There is an additional charge of $2 for each 30 minutes someone uses a bicycle for more than an hour.
There are several BCycle bike share stations adjacent to transit stops and along the Trolley Track Trail.
Current BCycle bike share stations in south Kansas City are located in the Brookside area at 194 W. 62nd Ter., by Wornall Rd. at 397 W. Gregory Blvd. and 397 W. 74th St. in the Waldo area and at the Longview Lake Marina.
Hopefully, additional bike share stations will be added soon in south Kansas City, giving the combined pass even more value to local residents and employees.
