Christmas In The Sky

The Jackson County Parks + Rec Department will kick off its annual holiday fireworks and lighting events in Longview Lake Park the evening of Wednesday, November 24. Gates to the Christmas in the Sky fireworks spectacular and stage show at Longview Lake Beach, 11101 Raytown Rd., will open at 5 PM., and the holiday stage show featuring the cast of the Quality Hill Playhouse cabaret “Christmas in Song” and dancers and singers from Monica’s School of Dance will start at 6 PM.

Santa will arrive in a mule drawn sleigh after the stage show, and the fireworks spectacular accompanied by holiday music will start at 7:40 PM. The 34th annual Christmas in the Park drive through animated lighting display with more than 600,000 lights and 175 animated displays will open at 5:30 PM that night and remain open nightly through December 31.

Its hours are from 5:30 to 10 PM Sunday-Thursday and from 5:30 to 11 PM Friday & Saturday. It can be accessed off of View High Dr. about two miles south of I-470 at the Frank White Jr., Softball Complex, 3901 SW Longview Park Rd., which is just west of View High Dr., with an entrance on Longview Rd.
