Landfill Public Hearing @ Raymore

Urgent public hearing and vote on proposed landfill development in Kansas City, Mo.

WHO:     City of Raymore

 WHAT:    Residents, neighbors and other stakeholders are invited to voice their opinions on plans for an approximately 960-acre residential solid waste landfill in Kansas City, Missouri, directly abutting neighborhoods, schools, small businesses, houses of worship and bodies of water in the surrounding community. Following public comment, the Raymore City Council will vote to approve or reject a one-half-mile buffer, extending north from 155th St., as allowed by the Revised Statutes of Missouri.

WHEN:   Thursday, February 16, 6 p.m.

WHERE:  Centerview, 227 N. Municipal Circle, Raymore, Missouri. The hearing will happen in Harrelson Hall, which can accommodate more than 400 people. Overflow seating will be available.

HOW:     There will be reserved space for media and cameras in the hearing room. Various stakeholders from the city and community can be made available immediately before and during the hearing for interviews. Parking is available in the lot next to the building, across the street at City Hall and in the circle drive.
