At 12:52 this morning, emergency crews responded to assist South Patrol officers with an injury crash. Preliminary investigation revealed that a blue Nissan Altima was traveling westbound on E. Red Bridge Road approaching Harrison Street when it collided with a parked white Ford F-450 boom truck. The boom truck had its emergency lights activated and was surrounded by tall orange traffic cones. The driver of the Nissan was transported to an area hospital, where he was pronounced deceased by medical staff. This marks fatality #46, compared to #47 at the same time last year. The investigation is ongoing.
