Around 10 am, ambulance services responded to the area of 11100 West Longview Road (Longview Lake) to meet South Patrol officers on a reported injury crash with critical injuries.
Preliminary investigation revealed that for reasons unknown, the driver of a white/orange GMC U-Haul van exited the vehicle while stopped on the roadway. The driver left the vehicle in gear, and the vehicle began to roll forwards. The driver attempted to reenter the driver’s seat but was unsuccessful and was struck the vehicle. The driver was knocked to the ground and then run over by the rear wheels of the GMC. The driver was transported to a local hospital with critical injuries. The driver is currently in critical but stable condition and the investigation is ongoing.
