KCFD was dispatched to a reported duplex fire in the 11000 block of Askew at 6:13 p.m. this evening. On arrival, companies reported light smoke from the front of the residence and advanced a hose line on an offensive fire attack. The fire was found in a bedroom, where it was contained, quickly extinguished, and placed under control at 6:23 p.m. Companies investigated for extension and extinguished hot spots. The occupants evacuated the home on their own prior to our arrival and searches came back all clear. No injuries were reported.
Red Cross was ordered for 2 adults and 2 children.
KCFD is investigating the cause of the fire.
