Kansas City Firefighters responded to a reported house fire at the 11221 Herrick Ave. in the Ruskin neighborhood just before 7:30 p.m. Crews reported smoke showing from a single- story residence on arrival.
Interior operations were initiated using a single handline. Searches of the structure came back all clear. The fire was contained to a single room and contents.
No injuries were reported at this incident.
The property appears to be pending sale.
Dangerous buildings were ordered as part of standard protocol. The cause of the fire is under investigation by KCFD.
