Kansas City Fire Department responded to a reported fire in a multi-family townhome at 10928 E McKinley at 5:14 pm. On arrival crews reported heavy smoke and fire from a two-story vacant townhome.
Interior operations were initiated using multiple handlines. Interior searches of the structure were conducted and came back all clear.
Companies are still on the scene working to get hotspots put out, and conducting salvage and overhaul operations. City Planning and Dangerous Buildings have been requested to the scene. The cause of the fire is under investigation by KCFD. Unknown at this time how many will be displaced.
