Kansas City Fire Department companies were dispatched to a reported fire in the 6000 block of East 93rd Street at 1:36 a.m. On arrival, crews reported heavy fire showing from a 1-story house. A defensive fire attack was initiated to extinguish the fire.
Searches throughout the structure were performed and reported all clear. The fire was brought under control at 1:57 a.m.
The area, awaiting construction of an affordable housing complex, contains vacant houses. At least two fires were reported late last year at the property.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by KCFD.
No injuries have been reported from this incident.
Dangerous Buildings and City Planning have been requested to the scene.
