Pinnacle Winds, Kansas City’s professional concert band, will give a free concert at 2 p.m. Sunday, October 6, in the sanctuary of the First Church of the Nazarene, 11811 State Line Rd.
Titled Around the World in Eighty Minutes, the concert will feature nationally renowned conductor Dr. Andrea Strauss who will share the conducting with Dr. John Carmichael, Pinnacle Winds conductor.
Compositions to be performed include Africa – Ceremony, Song & Ritual; Bookmarks from Japan; Italian Rhapsody; Paris Sketches; and Yosemite Autumn, as well as Mehter Suite by local composer Dr. Lee Hartman.
