Sock Hop at Villa Ventura
The 1950s era included sock hops, rock n’ roll, pomade and hair pins, swirling poodle skirts and letterman and leather jackets. That era will be revived when Villa Ventura, 119th & Wornall Rd., will host a free sock hop on Saturday, June 9, from 1 to 3 p.m.
“This is a South KC community appreciation event,” says Julie Cupp, Community Relations Director for Villa Ventura. The sock hop will include food, drinks, a cakewalk, Elvis impersonator, and photo booth. “All staff will be dressed up in true ’50s costumes, poodle skirts and such,” she says. To RSVP call 816-941-0525.
