Police responded to a reported injury collision with critical injuries. Investigation revealed that a green Honda Civic was traveling southbound on Holmes in the second lane of travel. A white Chevrolet HHR was traveling southbound on Holmes in the first lane of travel. The Chevrolet made a sudden, abrupt lane change and struck the left front side of the Honda. The Chevrolet then traveled off the west side of the roadway and struck a large tree. The driver and sole occupant of the Chevrolet was transported to a local hospital with critical injuries. The driver of the Honda was uninjured. The driver of the Chevrolet is currently in serious condition and the investigation is ongoing
